Engineering Students to Compete in 10th Annual Capstone Competition

Sarnia, ON More than 60 students from the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Western University will be at the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park next Friday, March 20 for the 10th annual Capstone Engineering Design and Competition.

The event is an opportunity for graduating students to showcase their design projects to a panel of judges comprised of local community and industry leaders. Projects will be presented in one of three categories: Chemical and Biochemical Processes, Energy and Fuels, and Environmental and Waste Treatment. First and second place awards will be presented in each category.

Presentations are scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. and will continue until awards are handed out at 2:00 p.m.

"Capstone has had a profound impact on the futures of students and industry," said Dr. Katherine Albion, Director, The Bowman Centre. "The knowledge shared at these events goes a long way into shaping the careers of students and prospects for industry."
